1 - Introduction

1.1 - Overview
GangsterMind is a free, strategic role-playing game that you can play daily using only your Web browser. It is text based and very straightforward. Proceed by clicking on options. Master the basics and, slowly but surely, you'll get the hang of it.

Enter the World of GangsterMind, where you are the leader of an organized crime gang. Raise cash from casinos, prostitutes, loan sharks and gambling dens. Turn out narcotics, booze and counterfeit currency. Bribes and felonies are part of your repertoire as you wage war against other gangsters for control of the underworld. You and your gang can join a crime cartel with a well structured hierarchy or form your own crime cartel. The possibilities are endless within a proven business model where illicit profits can be laundered through legit business ventures.

Your first order of business is to build a strong crew. Maintain your workers' morale high, lest they decide to leave you. Dole out liquor and nose candy to your workers, guns liquor and weed to your goons. Make sure you have enough goons to protect your workers and if all else fails, give them a bigger cut. Observe what makes each group happy. Cars can make a difference for drive-bys and getaways. The vehicle of choice is the Hummer Limo. Purchase your own planes to forego plane tickets. Remember to try out many different strategies! If you don't like the city you're in, make your way to another place! If you aren't making enough money, try other ways to get money. Get ready for some bona fide, certified, no holds barred racketeering.

Players are ranked according to their net worth. Here is how net worth is calculated:
NETWORTH = Cash/10 + Cash in bank/10 + alcohol * 1 + Weed * 2 + Coke *5 + Cadillac * 8,000 + Hummer Limo * 40,000 + Royal Jet * 40,000 + Heavy jet * 250,000 + Card shark * 2,500 + Hooker * 2,000 + Moonshiner * $1,500 + Hood * 1,000 + Hustler * 500 + Hitman * 1,000 + Thug * 500 + Bodyguard * 300

Turns are required to perform any action in the game: Attack, Scout, Raise cash and so on. Players receive 15 turns every 10 minutes, as long as they have less than 1500 turns. You can always buy turns by clicking on "Need more turns". You start with a given amount of reserve turns that you can use any time during a round. You can transfer them on the main page when you log in.

You can win fantastic prizes just by playing and having a great time: gangstermind.com offers $1,000 in cash at the end of each round to the best kingpin (player buying turns) and many other prizes.

If you have any suggestions or find any errors in the game, please report them to the administrators by sending a support ticket or an E-mail to the admin.

Your crew's morale is crucial to the success of your organization. If your workers or your goons morale is low, they will walk out on you when ordered into action. Indulge your workers with booze and coke, and provide goons to protect them at work. Your workers' morale also depends on their cut of the take (workers' payout). Your goons crave liquor and weed, and require 2 HK P7s to 1 AK per boy. Try to observe what makes each group happy. The black market is a good place to stock up on weed, booze and coke.

3 - Actions

3.1 - Attack
To attack someone go to the attack menu to look for an opponent within your range (0.5 to 3 times your net worth) or retaliate against any player who dared to hit you within the last 24 hours.
Choose your victim click on 'Attack this player'. Sometimes, your opponent is in a different city and you will have to move to his city if you want to attack him. Then choose your attack strategy:

  • Drive by: Assail your foes with an unforgiving barrage of firepower. Drive-by with the most gunmen you can fit in your rides. The Cadillac seats 5 people and the Hummer limo can accomodate 10 passengers.
  • Headquarter invasion: Raid your enemies' headquarters, kill enough of their goons and walk out with their cash.
  • Business extortion: Seize your enemies' businesses by taking out their goons and their workers! Kill enough of their goons to execute their workers.
  • Drug Labs Sabotage: Appropriate dope and booze from your rivals
  • Steal cars: Inflict significant damage to your enemies' goons and requisite their rides.
  • Hijack planes: See to it that you have enough planes and that your enemies' goons are reeling from enough casualties before hijacking their planes.

Survival tip: Keep in mind that carrying out a hit on somebody opens the door to getting hit by that person as many times as they see fit. When attacked by a stronger player it is unwise to retaliate immediately, as this would lift the attack protection you have if you are out of the opponent's range. It is careful to wait until he is no longer able to attack you and rebuild. Once you have regained your strength, you will be in a better position to hit back (you can do so an unlimited number of times within the 24 hours following his last attack against you).

3.2 - Scout
One of the fundamentals in organized crime is to conduct profitable business while staying out of jail, notably by getting others to do your bidding. A varied roster of personnel is key to your operation.
You can hire 5 kinds of workers in the Scout section:
Hookers to work the streets and determine how much cash people will pay for their services.
Card sharks to work in your casinos and impact the stream of cash your gaming tables generate.
Hustlers to work in your gambling den and help persuade people to place bets.
Hoods to run your loan sharking operations and help you strong-arm debtors.
Moonshiners to run the speakeasy where revenue is derived from the sale of booze.

You can hire 3 kinds of goons in the Scout section:
Hitmen: professional killers that you pay for protection. They are the best goons.
Thugs and body guards to protect you and help you attack other Gangstas.

3.3 - Raise cash
You can collect some money by sending your workers to labour.

  • Your Card sharks can roll out casino tables.
  • Your hookers can work the streets
  • Your hoods can collect loan payments.
  • Your hustlers can push people to bet.

3.4 - Produce
You can produce coke, weed, booze and counterfeit currency.

  • Your moonshiners work to distil booze.
  • Your thugs work to produce weed and cocaine.
  • Your hustlers work to turn out fake cash.

3.5 - Black market
Get what you need for your guys on the black market. Buy/sell or swap alcohol and drugs, weapons, cars and planes. Sell items for as much as 70% of their value.

  • Alcohol and drugs mainly serve to keep your crew' morale high. Your goons want booze and weed, while your workers ask for booze and coke. Make sure to amass enough of these substances.
  • Weapons are your guys' tools of the trade and also account for their morale. Acquire HK P7s, shotguns, uzis and AK47s. The lethality of a weapon is proportional to its value.
  • Cars can make a difference for drive-bys and getaways. They are also used to steal other gangstas' cars. The vehicle of choice is the Hummer Limo: it takes up to 10 people. The Cadillacs only take 5 people.
  • Planes are used to travel without paying for tickets or to steal other gangstas' planes. The Royal jet can take up to 40 guys and the Heavy jet can take up to 300 people.

3.6 - Bank
Just like in the real world, you have a bank account and petty cash. The money you use anywhere is the cash you have on you. However, keeping money in your pocket is risky. Another player can attack you and steal it; depositing part of it in the bank is not a bad idea. For 15 turns, you can make one deposit of up to 15% of your money. Withdrawals do not use up any of your turns.
For some quick cash, use the Gangster Pawn to exchange turns for cash. 1 turn gives you from $450 to $550.

3.7 - Move
You may want to move to avoid a hit, for booze runs or to travel to and from your hometown, to meet with your cartel. While in your hometown, you benefit from heightened protection from your cartel, but it is also easier for your enemies to get to you.
When you get your private jet you don't need to pay for plane tickets when you move to other cities. The Royal jet can take up to 40 guys and the Heavy jets can take up 300 people. You will have to pay an extra $150 for each guy who can't find room on the plane.

4- Cartels

4.1 - Cartel hierarchy
Cartels are groups of people who share the same goals, the same ideas or just trust each other. Joining a cartel provides protection and inspires trust and respect between you and other members. Trust and respect can save your life, but can also get you killed. You can form your own cartel and lead other Gangstas.

The Boss heads the cartel and the counsellor is his second in command. Next comes the underboss, the core members and finally the wannabes.
As the Boss' right hand man, the counsellor has much of the same aptitudes as the Boss.
The underboss is subordinate to the counsellor. Underbosses are often prepared to take the Boss' place if need be.
A core member plays the role of an auxiliary, leading his own action and funnelling a portion of his take to the head of the cartel. The core members may make key decisions and set the standards of the group.
Occupying the lowest rung of the cartel, the wannabe is, in actuality, the child of gang life. The wannabes are, more often than not, younger, aspiring, potential gang members.

4.2 - Creating a cartel
You wanna be the boss of your own cartel?
To create a cartel, click on 'Start cartel' under the Cartel submenu. Then choose a name and click on the 'create cartel' button.
Note: If you are already in a cartel, you have to leave it before creating a new one.

4.3 - Managing a cartel
If you are the boss or counsellor of a cartel you can invite other players to join your cartel, assign them a rank, and dismiss players you don't like. The boss can also disband the cartel or make another player become the boss instead of him.
To invite players to your cartel, just go on their profile and click on 'Invite to cartel'. They become members of your cartel if they accept the invitation.
Note: a cartel can not have more than 15 members.

4.4 - Joining a cartel
To join a cartel you must receive an Invitation. You can ask for a cartel invite by posting on the Recruiting Board or ask cartel leaders directly.

4.5 - Cartel bank
You can transfer cash to your cartel by clicking on 'Transfer cash'.
For the boss, the link is called 'cartel bank'. The boss can also see all the cartel bank transactions.
Note: you can not transfer cash to your cartel bank more than 3 times a day. The money deposited in the cartel bank can not be withdrawn.

5 - Referral system
You can refer people to the game by sending them your personal referral link that you can find on the refer page. If they visit the site using your personal referral link and they sign up to the game, they will then be known as your underlings.
You get 100 turns for each of your friends that you refer who registers at gangstermind.com.
You get 3$ in real cash for each one of your friends that you have referred who buys turns.
